The festive season may be the time of year when people start to enjoy the thought of long nights, hibernation and eating cake and pizza whilst cuddling up to watch tv specials.
I have one thing to say – you can keep your omnibuses, cake and carbs to yourself, because the festive season for me is all about sparkly dresses, prosecco on tap and being able to party the night away in the most coolest of venues. Luckily for me, I got to attend a very special event last week that gave me exactly that, kicking the festive season off in style.
For on a rather chilly and dark Tuesday evening, I was lucky enough to attend the Very Christmas Partywear Event at Very’s own swish headquarters. As one of Liverpool’s best fashion exports, I knew that their HQ would be something that resembled fashion blogger heaven and it certainly did not disappoint.
Down an average looking corridor came something out of a film; an exhibition room that looked like a sleek, haute couture store where the staff could happily walk round in eight inch heels all day without breaking a sweat, the kind of store you wish could be your secret wardrobe.
A gold sparkly ensemble hung in the window – the very thing that epitomises the party season and some drop-dead gorgeous shoes were hanging from the ceiling, as if dropping from heaven. I knew, even before I entered the room that fashionistas across the world would be in for a treat this Christmas, courtesy of some Very talented buyers who, it seems, know exactly what we want when it comes to partying en vogue.
The event, which Liverpool Bloggers promoted, was attended by some of the North West’s top fashion and lifestyle Bloggers and Very’s Alex and Renee introduced the event, including some of the latest collections from high-street brands and Very’s own Christmas Partywear collection, inspired from their buying team’s trips across the globe.
Beautiful prints, glamorous floor-length gowns and rich colours that oozed festive furore were on offer for the fashion blogging community to gawp at.
From echoes of the retro, disco days of 70’s fashion with metallic shades to the modern cuts and sleek designs that could take you from a day look into a night look with effortless style…
Unfortunately after a nine-hour long workday, even selfies and Snapchat filters couldn’t make me look like I possessed a pulse and so I decided to skip the pictures and super shiny selfie wall. Instead, I decided to take refuge at the NYX makeup area, enjoying their amazing eye shadow and contour palettes, with on-trend shades that perfectly complimented the array of dresses, shoes and accessories.
Whether you enjoy the more casually chic look or full blown glamazonian attire, Very has everything you need to sparkle this season.
