After examining recent trends in women’s fashion and beauty, it has been noted that women have gradually started to favour a fuller and flatter brow, and that the previously skinny, overly arched eyebrow will soon be non-existent. A study by Garrett R. Griffin speculated that women of today “…are subconsciously favouring a masculine brow” as a result of increasing gender equality.
Newly established North West eyebrow specialists ‘ The Brow Club’ have pioneered the idea of creating a fuller style of brow via the use of HD Brow treatments, Permanent brow tattoos, 4D brow extensions and more, thus giving new meaning to the stereotyped ‘Scousebrow’.
Owner of The Brow Club, Kate Russel who is “not a fan of the term Scousebrow” honed her already existing beauty skills to specialise in the creation of a ‘HD brow’ instead, a concept which has taken the market by storm and which she claims “…includes everything needed to deliver the perfect brow.”
As a fan club for “full, thick but natural-looking brows”, The Brow Club’s branding encourages girls to “put their tweezer’s in the bin and grow out their brows” prior to treatments, promoting the ultimate goal of having ‘Brows on point’ – a notion which has become a popular hashtag on social media in recent years.
Being a firm believer in the concept of strong brows alluding to strong women and self-confidence, Kate explains “The big brow is more than just a fashion trend. You can’t pull off a strong brow unless you have confidence. I think women of today are strong and independent – traits which were traditionally seen to be masculine.”
On being a new and independent business owner, Kate adds “It’s a very exciting time for women in business. Where I’m based, The Secret Warehouse is a prime example – it’s made up of 99% female entrepreneurs who are all ambitious, inspiring and successful.”
With very few eyebrow specialists like them in the area, The Brow Club have attracted clientele from all over the North West. Kate’s business plans are “…to continue perfecting my skills, and offering a wider range of brow treatments” as well as expanding across the UK.
